Struthers: Funeral services will be held 11am Saturday at the Wasko Funeral Home with Chaplin Fred Markusic officiating, for Paul M. Socak Jr. 51, who passed away Wednesday morning in the Hospice House, where he was well cared for.
Paul was born March 15, 1959 in Campbell, the son of Paul M. Sr. and Betty L. Bernard Socak.
He was a 1978 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School; Paul worked at Woods of America, making wooden rocking horses until 1985.  He also worked for Penn Ohio Towel Supply and Rebel and Penn Ohio Truck Stops. His last job was at the Landmark Restaurant in Boardman.
Paul loved to eat different ethnic foods.
He leaves to cherish his memory a brother, Robert (Boop) Socak whom he had lived with the past 18 years, a sister, Sheila Snyder,and a very special niece Kayla who all took care of Paul the past 2 years as he battled colon cancer. He also leaves a nephew Jack Sallaz; a niece Elaine Sallaz; 4 great nephews, Christian, Dylan, Jamie and Gaige; a great niece Haley; his best friend since kindergarden, Rocky Ortiz and Rocky’s mom Lenore Ortiz, who treated Paul as her own son.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew Steven Sallaz.
The family would like to thank the Hospice House for the wonderful care they gave to Paul.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any monetary donations be made to the funeral home to help defray the expenses.
The Socak family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends today from 5-8pm.
