Beverly M. Wagner, 73

Boardman… Beverly M. Wagner, 73, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at her home.

Beverly was born April 8, 1950, in Youngstown, the daughter of Joseph Polkabla and Anne Soroka.  She was 1968 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and later earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Youngstown State University.  She was a lifelong area resident.

Beverly started her career as a Registered Nurse at Southside Hospital, then went on to also work at Northside Hospital and Beeghly Medical Center.  She worked on intensive care, cardiac, same-day surgery, and recovery room floors for a combined 42-year nursing career where she made many of her life-long nursing friends.

Beverly was active in the Boardman-Poland Junior Women’s League.  She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  Beverly was an enthusiast of Colonial Williamsburg, genealogy, and enjoyed visiting her sisters in Florida.

She is survived by her husband Richard Wagner, whom she married on September 14, 1974. Her children: stepdaughter Jennifer Brewer of Poland; Aaron (Stephanie) Wagner of Independence, Kentucky; David Wagner of Boardman and Sarah (Ryan) Dieter of Columbus, Ohio. She also leaves her six grandchildren Paige (Zachary) Pritchard, Ronnie Brewer, Blake Wagner, Meredith Wagner, Carson Dieter and Molly Dieter. Beverly is also survived by her sister Debra Cavalier Shirk (Charles); her brother John (Bonnie) Polkabla and her brother-in-law Thomas Bardash.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Rosalie Bardash.

The Wagner family has entrusted Beverly’s care to the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell, where calling hours will be held on Thursday March 21, 2024 from 5-7pm. Additional calling hours will be held on Friday March 22, 2024 from 10:30-11am at St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church in Campbell. A Divine Liturgy will follow at 11am in the church with Fr. Kevin Marks officiating.

Beverly will be laid to rest at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Cemetery in Lowellville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Michael “Mickey” Soroka Charitable Foundation, P.O. Box 6, Campbell, OH 44405 in honor of Beverly.
