Catalina Lugo, 92
Campbell…………….Funeral services will be held on Monday March 18 at 9:30am at the Wasko Funeral Home and at 10am at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at Sta. Rosa de Lima Catholic Church, for Catalina Lugo, 92, who passed away on Tuesday, March 12th with her loving family by her side.
Catalina was born Aug. 6, 1926, in Humacao, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Juan and Julia Rodriguez Velasquez.
She was a homemaker and worked at the Mahoning Bank and St. Patrick’s Church both in Youngstown, in the housekeeping dept.
Catalina enjoyed gardening, crocheting and was mother of the year in 2005 for the Sons of Boriquen.
Her husband, Esteban Lugo, whom she married on Oct. 16, 1948, passed away on Jan. 15, 2005.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Carmen E. Lugo (Charles) Lindsay of Pittsburgh, Candida (Ivan) Godoy of Campbell, Evelyn (Andy) Filipkowski of Cleveland and Steve (Jerolyn) Lugo of Youngstown; six grandchildren, Katalina (Chris) Georgetson, Yvette Nichole (Brett) Abeid, Tony (Christine) Herman, Ivan Erik (Claudia) Godoy, Marc Andrew (Kelly) and Jon Paul (Danielle) Filipkowski and Sharese Andrews; twelve great-grandchildren, Gabrielle and Jack Georgetson, Elexea Aurilio, Aliya and Amaya Abeid, Tony and Anna Sophia Herman, Elden, Edith and Etta Filipkowski, Effie Dawson and Justine Andrews; two sisters, Obdulia Velazquez and Martina Velazquez; and two brothers, Jacob Velazquez and Modesto Velazquez of Las Piedras, Puerto Rico.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Esteban; two brothers, Abelardo Velazques Rodriguez and Antonio Velazquez; and one sister Maria Velazquez.
The Lugo family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends on Sunday, March 17th from 2 to 5pm with a prayer service at 4:00pm.
