Charlotte (Evans) Malarcik Obituary

Boardman…….  Charlotte Marie (Evans) Malarcik, 71, passed away after a battle with brain cancer Saturday September 8, 2018, at her home with her loving husband by her side.

Charlotte was born May 17, 1947 in Youngstown and was a 1965 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School. She went on to graduate with honors from Youngstown State University’s School of Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse at Trumbull Memorial and Salem Hospitals. Charlotte returned to YSU and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in Dietetics and worked as Registered Dietician at Jameson Hospital in New Castle, PA as well as becoming a member of the Jameson Hospital School of Nursing faculty teaching dietetics to nursing students. She was a member of the Ohio Nurses Association as well as several other professional organizations.

Charlotte met her husband, Daniel Malarcik, July 22, 1964, and they married October 22, 1966, and shared 54 wonderful years together. Dan and Charlotte enjoyed a lifelong love for antiquing and going to flea markets with Charlotte always finding gems in the most unlikely places. They also shared a love of the arts and Shakespeare, enjoying season tickets to the Three Rivers Shakespeare Festival they would attend with their good friends Maria and Bob Yane.

Befitting their love of antiques, Dan and Charlotte often spent summers at their antique trailer at Geneva-On-The-Lake, enjoying sunsets and walks on the beach. They also traveled throughout their marriage with Cape Cod being their favorite place to visit for family vacations. Charlotte enjoyed cooking, often making her “famous brownies” for her grandchildren and Sunday pasta dinners for the whole family.

Charlotte was known for her kindness, and ability to make anyone feel comfortable around her. Her compassion showed in the wonderful advice she gave so many people over the years. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by so many.

In addition to her husband, Charlotte leaves behind their son Dan Jr & his wife Heather Kirsten and their children Jake and Lauren of Kent; daughter Heather Leanora Malarcik and her daughter, Rachael, of Pittsburgh; Dan’s sister and brothers Jenny & Roy Perry of Boardman, Mike & Maryann Malarcik of Campbell, and Don & Evelyn Malarcik of Austintown, who were all like siblings to Charlotte; life-long friends Kathy and Bob Timms and their children Shannon, Kristen, Erin and the late Sean Timms.

The Malarcik family has entrusted the arrangements for their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell, where they will receive family and friends on Monday September 17, 2018 from 4-7pm.

A Divine Liturgy will be held at 10am on Tuesday September 18, 2018 at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Byzantine Catholic Church 526 W. Rayen Ave. in Youngstown with Fr. Lubomyr  Zhybak officiating
