Campbell…………….Funeral services will be held at 10am Thursday morning at Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church, with Fr. Steve Denas officiating, for Constantinos “Gus” Raptis, 64, who passed away early Sunday morning in St. Elizabeth Health Center, Boardman Campus.
Gus was born, May 27, 1953 in Kalymnos, Greece, the son of Petros and Anna Davelli Raptis.
He was a 1971 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and was employed as the Head Custodian at Campbell Memorial High School and previously as a Crane Operator at the Youngstown Sheet and Tube Company. He was also the owner and operator of Gus’s Lounge on 12th Street in Campbell.
Gus loved Harley Davidson’s and old school cars but loved his two grandchildren more than anything.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Peter (Shannon) Raptis of Canfield; grandchildren, Alyssa Marie and Anthony Michael ; two sisters, Christine Abu-Enjeela and Calliope Galouzis, both of Campbell; many nieces and nephews; and his “granddog” Bettis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Alex who passed away in 1983 and Michael who passed away in 2013
The Raptis family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends on Wednesday evening from 4 to 7pm, with a 6:30 prayer service with Fr. Steve Denas and again on Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10am at Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church.
