David L. Bettinger, 68

 

Campbell……...  A Funeral Service will be held at 4:00pm Saturday at the Wasko Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Yargo officiating for, David L. Bettinger, 68 of Campbell, who passed away Sunday, Nov. 26th at his home.

David was born June 17, 1949 in Utica, NY, the son of Clarence and Jeanne Page Bettinger.

Before coming to this area 14 years ago, David lived in Woodbine, Maryland. He was a 1971 graduate of the University of Dubuque, Iowa with a BS in Biology, and served his country in the Army National Guard from 1972 to 1978.

David was a retired Service Manager, Volunteer Fire Fighter, EMT and IV Tech; and was a member of AF & AM Liberty Lodge #219 and Masonic Worshipful Master (Past) 1984, 1989 & 1990, raised in 1979. And was a volunteer firefighter with the Winfield Fire Dept. and Fire/Police with the Otter Lake Fire Dept.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, the former Teresa Ann Merlo, whom he married April 16, 2005; five daughters, Kendra (Kevin) Schmitz of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Theresa (David) Schroeder of Pasadena, Maryland, Michelle (Chris Abell) Bettinger of Westminster, Maryland, Anne (Jarrett) Gregory of Glen Burnie, Maryland and Shannon (Anthony Gregory) Kewer of  Milford, Delaware; ten grandchildren, Carter, Austin, Tyler, Nicholas, Kathryn, Aaron, Abigail, Cecelia, Anthony and Jackson; a sister, Karen Marshall of Forest Hill, Maryland; brothers-in-law, Frank Payton of Milton Delaware and William Payton of St. Petersburg, FL; sisters-in-law, Carol Harmon of Rochester, NY, Cassie Scruggs of Harrington, Delaware and Debra DeVincent of Dover, Delaware; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The Bettinger family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends on Saturday afternoon from 2 to 4pm.
