Emmanuel “Manoli” Triantafillos, 29

Campbell…Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 27 at 10:00 AM at the Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church, with Fr. Steve Denas officiating, for Emmanuel “Manoli” Triantafillos, 29, who passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017.

Manoli was born on May 7, 1988, in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Pantelis and Cynthia (LaRosa) Triantafillos.  Along with his parents, he was a lifelong and proud resident of Campbell, Ohio.

A 2007 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School, Manoli went on to obtain his real estate license after graduation. In addition, he attended the New Castle School of Trades where he acquired a CLD (commercial driver’s license) in order to operate large heavy vehicles within his business organization. He was the owner of Alpha Tile Distributor & Importer LLC.

A dedicated parishioner of Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church, Manoli actively participated in assisting with the parish’s Food & Wine Festival, the building and grounds committee and the Greek Orthodox Youth Program (GOYA).  As a young child, he enjoyed dancing as a member of the Nisiotika Pedia Greek Dance Group and participating in all youth group activities.  Within the youth program, he will especially be remembered for organizing annual bonfires in his neighborhood of Pin Oaks in Campbell for the youth every fall.

His deep love for his Greek Culture could be seen in his frequent travels to his beloved island of Kalymnos, Greece where he spent many summers with family and friends. Also, he fully supported all local efforts that promoted the Greek Orthodox Faith and the Greek Culture. Manoli served as a council member of the Prodromos Kalymnian Society and actively promoted the society’s mission to promote the Greek Culture in America.

Family, friends and the local community will remember Manoli for his kindness, generosity, and passion for life.  Always with a sincere smile on his face, he graciously supported others and was willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Friends of the family considered him one of their own. Close-knit friends considered him a brother.  Manoli had a way of bringing a smile to everyone’s face with his sense of humor and his positive outlook on life.  He will be remembered for his love of cooking, as he loved to gather his friends together to cook for them. He also took much pleasure in learning about and being around trucks, cars, his gun collection, and playing card games, such as “mpirimpa” with close friends. Manoli was a very good friend to all who knew him.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents, Pantelis and Cynthia (LaRosa) Triantafillos, his grandmother, Marian LaRosa, his uncles Yianni (Maria) Triantafillos, Paul (Dee) LaRosa, George (Bonnie) LaRosa, and Carl (Sherri) LaRosa. In addition, he is survived by his cousins, Emmanuel J. Triantafillos, George Triantafillos, Katerina (Sotiri) Triantafillos, Themelis Triantafillos, PJ LaRosa, Jessica LaRosa, Nicholas LaRosa and Carl LaRosa. He also leaves behind many well-loved extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Emmanuel and Katerina Triantafillos and maternal grandfather, Paul A. LaRosa.

The Triantafillos family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Tuesday evening from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home, where a Trisagion service will be held at 7:00 p.m.  Family and friends may also call on Wednesday morning from 9:00 – 10:00 a. m. at the church, prior to the 10:00 a.m. funeral service.
