YOUNGSTOWN- John Klenotic, 88, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2018.
John was born September 25, 1930, in Youngstown, a son of the late Dimitri and Mary Brila Klenotic.
A veteran of the United States Air Force, John served during the Korean War. He worked for Ohio Bell, currently know as A T&T. Early in his career, John was sent to Alaska where he worked on the DEW (Defense Early Warning) system. He was promoted and worked in management until his retirement in 1985. His hobbies included woodworking and fishing and he excelled at handball and racquetball.
John leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife, the former Elaine M. Horvatt, whom he married October 10, 1953, his daughters Marcia (Andrew John) Taylor, Carolyn Klenotic and Claire (Bill Span) Klenotic, all of Boardman. He also leaves three nephews, Bob, John and Chuck Klenotic and their families, and his cat, Chloe.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Bulatko, and his brother Bob Klenotic.
The family has entrusted John's care to the Wasko Funeral Home. Per John's wishes, there will be no calling hours, with a private memorial service to be held at a later date. Cremation will take place and burial of his cremated remains will be at Poland Riverside Cemetery.
