Josephine A. Hoza-Gatti, 88
YOUNGSTOWN…. Private family services were held on Monday morning June 4, 2018, at the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell, for Josephine A. Hoza-Gatti, 88, who departed this life Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Park Vista in Youngstown.
Josephine was born August 14, 1929, in Youngstown, a daughter of Stefan and Anna (Tekelly) Hoza.
She was a 1947 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School.
Josephine worked as a hair dresser for the Strouss and McKelvey’s Department Stores.
She was a parishioner of St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church in Brier Hill, and was a member of the Slovak Yenota Society.
Always an excellent baker and cook, Josephine was known for her excellent Halushki, her Lamb chop with mint jelly and asparagus; as well as the best spaghetti sauce. She also enjoyed playing Bingo and spending time with her family, always throwing the best birthday parties for her children.
Josephine is survived by her daughter Claudine (Mark) Gatti-Austilosh of Campbell, her son Robert (Regina Pompili) Gatti of Hubbard; and her sister Elizabeth Hoza-Pignatelli of Struthers. Josephine also leaves 3 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother John T. Hoza; and a sister Helen Hoza-Gasparek.
Josephine was laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery.
The Gatti family has entrusted the care of their loved one to the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell.
