Kaliope Ellinos, 95
Campbell…Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church, with Rev. Steve Denas officiating, for Kaliope Ellinos, 95, who passed away Sunday morning.
Kaliope was born April 23, 1923, in Tarpon Springs, Florida, the daughter of Michael and Anna Samarkos Pikos and moved to the Campbell area in 1941.
Kaliope worked as a sales clerk for Habor’s Furniture store in downtown Youngstown and later worked as a cashier for Kroger’s Supermarket in the Lincoln Knolls Plaza. Kaliope retired from the Bakery Department of Apples Supermarket, also in the Lincoln Knolls Plaza.
She was a member of Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church.
Kaliope enjoyed cooking, playing cards and being around her family and friends.
Her husband, Nick Ellinos, whom she married in 1940, passed away in 1953.
Kaliope will be deeply missed by her children, Emmanuel N. (Diane) Ellinos of Austintown and Tula (Stephen Williams) Delphry of Campbell; grandchildren, Nick Ellinos, Tony Koulianos, Michael Ellinos, Nicholas Ellinos, Kelly Koulianos, Maria Rosenthal and Celeste Maillis; and eight great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and her husband, Nick; she was preceded in death by her daughter, Anne Koulianos; a son, Michael N. Ellinos; four sisters, Angie Frazis, Mary Pikos, Nancy Pappas and Sylvia Zoumis; and two brothers, Anthony and Emmanuel Pikos.
The Ellinos family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Friday from 12-1:00 p.m. at the Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church, prior to the 1:00 p.m. funeral service.
