Leonidas E. Tsambarlis, 88
Campbell…Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 28, 2019, at 10:00 a.m., at the Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church, with Rev. Steve Denas officiating, for Leonidas E. Tsambarlis, 88, who passed away Sunday evening, Feb. 24, 2019, with his family by his side.
Leonidas was born December 19, 1930, in Kalymnos, Greece, the son of Stratos and Maria Gerakios Tsambarlis.
He was a veteran of the US Army and served during the Korean War.
Leonidas was a GM retiree; having worked there for many years.
He was a parishioner of Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church and the Kalymnian Society. Leonidas served as a Mason with Wick Masonic Lodge #481.
Leonidas enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and spending time with his family. He will always be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and husband, who took care of his wife during her illness.
His wife, Virginia Koulianos Tsambarlis; whom he married July 11, 1964; passed away November 18, 2011.
Leonidas will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his daughter, Kali “Popi” (Greg) Keriotis, his son, Stratos (Colleen) Tsambarlis; grandchildren, Anthony, Lia, and Nicholas; his two sisters, Stasa and Eleni of Greece; many nieces and nephews; and his grandpuppy, Simba.
Besides his parents; and his wife, Virginia; he was preceded in death by his brother, Manuel Tsambarlis and his sister, Koula Zografakis.
The Tsambarlis family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2019 from 5-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and again Thursday morning from 9:30-10:00 a.m., at the Church, prior to the 10:00 a.m. funeral service.
