Manuel “Manolo” Roman Viera, 89
Hatillo, Puerto Rico… Manuel “Manolo” Roman Viera, 89, passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 8:00 p.m. at Susony Hospital in Arecibo, Puerto Rico.
Manuel was born in Puerto Rico on January 17, 1929, the son of Pastorizo Roman and Faustina Viera.
After retiring from Republic Steel, Mr. Viera, along with his wife, relocated back to Puerto Rico. He lived his dream of truly being home.
While living in Youngstown, he was a member of the Spanish Evangelical Church. He enjoyed reading biblical scriptures and praising the Lord. He was a very spiritual man. Above all, he loved spending time with his family. He was a very special man to all that knew him.
Manuel was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Pagan Viera, who passed away Dec. 15, 2013; three sisters; and five brothers.
He is survived by his son, Carlos (Marykaye) Viera; and his daughter, Zaida (Sixto Jr.) Rivera, grandchildren, Melenie (Reginald) Daniels; Sixto Manuel, with whom he shared a birthday, Naida Rivera, and Gigi Roman; great-grandchildren Sixto, Tatianna and Joshua; and great-great grandchildren Raymund, Regine and Reginald I.
Services were held September 8, 2018 in La Santa Cruz Funeral Home in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. Burial took place in Hatillo, Puerto Rico.
