Mary S. Wasko, 83

Youngstown…Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church, with Rev. Steve Denas officiating, for Mary S. Wasko, 83, who passed away Monday morning.

Mary was born July 12, 1934, in Campbell, the daughter of Steve and Sylvia Allinos Kotis.

She was a 1953 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and a lifelong area resident.

Mary worked as a STNA at Diamond Head Nursing Home, retiring after more than 25 years of service. 

She was a member of Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

Her husband, Thomas A. Wasko “Whitey”, whom she married April 23, 1955, passed away March 30, 1982.

Mary will be deeply missed by her children, Thomas E. (Philomena) Wasko of Youngstown, Edward R. Wasko of Florida, Catherine (Richard) Mondora of Canfield; her sisters, Betty Koulianos and Virginia Halikitis both of Campbell; her brother, John Kotis of Lowellville; and her grandchildren, Jessica and Patrick Carey of Poland and Ashley Mondora of Canfield.

Besides her parents; and her husband, Thomas, Mary was preceded in death by her sister, Irene Lyras.

The Wasko family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Monday from 4-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, and again Tuesday morning from 9-10:00 a.m. at the church, prior to the 10:00 a.m. funeral service.
