ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Robert K. “Bob” Ashton passed on to heaven on Jan. 26, in Asheville.
He was a long-time Cleveland area resident.
He is survived by his wife, Mary of 62 years; brother Msgr. John P. Ashton of Youngstown; sons Bob of Columbus, John of Cincinnati, and Jim of Burnsville, N.C.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Bob was born in Youngstown, on Feb. 1, 1932.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War on the USS Tarawa, CV-40. He received a Bachelor’s degree from St. Vincent College in Latrobe, Pa. In 1995, Bob retired as President of the Keyes-Treuhaft Company, Pepper Pike. He was also an Ernst & Ernst alumni from the Cleveland office. During the 1980s, Bob served as a Councilman for the Village of Moreland Hills. For many years, he and Mary were active members of the Church of Resurrection Parish in Solon, and St. Dominic Church in Shaker Heights.
A memorial Mass will be held on Feb. 17, at 10 a.m. at St. Lucy Church, 397 Tenney Ave., Campbell, OH 44405. Donations can be made to St. Lucy Church.
