Campbell…A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, for Steve J. Uhrin, 78, who peacefully passed away Saturday morning, April 27, 2019.
Steve was born October 23, 1940, in Youngstown, the son of Steve M. Uhrin Jr. and Mary Malik.
He was a graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and went on to serve his country as a member of the US Army. Steve was a lifelong area resident of Campbell.
Steve retired from V & M Star and then worked as a self-employed concrete finisher.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
Steve enjoyed polkas and going to Kuzmans. He loved raising tomato plants and enjoyed the outdoors, especially spending time with his family and friends at summer cookouts. He was an avid Steelers’ fan and liked watching boxing. Steve was also happy spending time with his sister and Carol at the casino. He loved collies.
His wife, the former Ramona Bozichovich, whom he married in Nov. 26, 1966, passed away March 4, 2008.
Steve will be deeply missed and always remembered by his grandson, Patrick Hymes of Campbell; his beloved partner, Carol Eckman; his nephews, whom he was very close to, Donald (Michele Nagel) Marapese, Eddie (Shelly) Marapese and Ken (Jen) Marapese; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents; and his wife, Ramona; he preceded in death by his daughter, Laurie Uhrin; who passed away in 2005; a grandson, Ronald Harrison III; a beloved little sister Helen “Fran” Marapese; and his brothers, Frank “Butch” and Mike Uhrin.
The Uhrin family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Thursday, May 2, 2019, from 10-12:00 p.m. at the church, prior to the 12:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial.
