Veronica Churilla-Domko Obituary

Veronica Churilla-Domko, 93

Poland………..Funeral services will be held 9:30am Saturday at the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell and 10am at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. Joseph the Provider Catholic Church for Veronica Churilla-Domko, 93, formerly of Campbell, who passed away Friday evening in Masternick Memorial.

Veronica was born May 12, 1925 in Brier Hill, Pa., the daughter of Joseph and Frances Machesky Sadosky, and moved to Campbell from Uniontown, Pa. in November of 1956.

She was a 1944 graduate of North Union High School in Uniontown, Pa.

Veronica was a member of the church, the St. John Infant of Prague Guild, the Jednota Branch 260 and the Campbell Senior Citizens Club. She was a devout catholic and enjoyed polka music and dancing. But her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandson Steven.

Although Veronica lived most of her life in Campbell, she moved to Poland to live with her son Thomas and his family as he became her caregiver as she suffered from Alzheimers. She then went to live at Masternick Memorial Healthcare Center and her family visited her every day.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Samuel (Bonnie) Churilla of Struthers and Thomas (Halina) Churilla of Poland; one grandson, Steven Churilla of Poland; a sister, Mary Kjarsgaard of Matawan, NJ; and two brothers, Andrew Sadosky of Hopwood, Pa and Edward Sadosky of Girard.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Samuel Churilla whom she married Oct. 26, 1946, he passed away Aug. 31, 1983, and her second husband, Joseph Domko whom she married Dec. 12, 1990, he passed away April 25, 2010; brothers, John, Joseph Jr. and Anthony Sadosky; and sisters, Viola Sadosky, Agnes Sadosky, Sophia Kolat, Frances Burkey, Helen Grondolsky and Cecelia Bradley.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Masternick Memorial Healthcare Center for the superb care they have given their mom for the last 2 ½ years. Also, many thanks to Southern Care Hospice Services for the comfort care given to Veronica and her family.

The Churilla-Domko family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell and will receive family and friends on Friday evening from 4 to 7pm, with a 3:30pm prayer of the Rosary.
