Walter Henderson Reyes, 36

Campbell… A Celebration of Life will take place on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the Wasko Funeral Home, with Pastor William Rodriquez officiating, for Walter Henderson Reyes, 36, who departed from this life unexpectedly on Sunday, November 26.

Walter was born May 22, 1981, in Youngstown, the son of Mary Lou Reyes and Walter B. Henderson.

He was a 2000 graduate of Struthers High School, Hall of Famer and superb running back at Syracuse University.  He is second on the school’s all-time rushing list. 

Walter loved working with and mentoring young football players as a personal trainer.

Walter’s God given personality and signature smile truly touched many lives.

He will be sadly missed by those blessed to have had him in their lives including his family, friends and teammates.  Walter was called home and is home with the Lord.

Walter is survived by his widow, Yolanda; his four children, Jazmynelee, Lilliana, Celena, and Raul Irizarry; granddaughter, Andrea Coleman; his mother, Mary Lou Reyes and father, Walter B. Henderson; his step-father, Herbert W. Tinsley, who considered Walter as his son; and his sister, Angelina Henderson.

Walter was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Luz Maria Acevedo-Reyes; and Jose R. Reyes; and his paternal grandparents, Mary Ann and Walter Henderson.

The Reyes family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Sunday from 2-5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers and should friends desire, donations may be made directly to the Wasko Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.
