Ann Sanders, 87

Granville, OH…Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00am at St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, with Rev. Andrew Nelko officiating, for Ann Sanders, 87, formerly of Campbell, who passed away Monday. Ann was born March 2, 1930, in Campbell, the daughter of George and Mary Simko Rusnak. She was a 1948 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and retired from the purchasing department at Youngstown State University. She was an active member of the church, belonging to the Mothers Club, Altar Society and Orthodox Women's Society. Ann loved her church and church family. Ann enjoyed attending sporting events of her grandchildren in Jr. High, High School and College (Campbell and South Range Jr. High School, South Range High School, Johns Hopkins University and Seton Hill University). She also enjoyed attending YSU football games including the national championship games. Ann was an avid Cleveland Indians, Browns and Cavs fan; and always cheered on the Ohio State Buckeyes. Her husband, Eugene "Geno" Sanders, whom she married Nov. 21,1950, passed away, August 15, 2014. Ann will be deeply missed by her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Barb Sanders of Granville; grandson, Jim ( Makenzie) Sanders of Phoenix; two granddaughters, Kira (Ty) Henkaline of Granville and Andra (John) Less of Annandale, VA; and four great-grandchildren, Holden, Ellie, Johnny and Carter. She also leaves, three brothers, George Rusnak of Cranberry, Pa., Joe Rusnak of Akron and Walter (Laurie) Rusnak of Poland; and two sisters, Mary Jane Puskas of Campbell and Nadine Pallai of Richland, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Geno. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Middleton Senior Living and Hospice of Central Ohio for the exceptional and loving care they offered to Ann during her stay in Granville. The family requests that donations be made to St. John Orthodox Church or Hospice of Central Ohio. The Sanders family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell and will receive family and friends on Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Campbell.
