Betty Bonzi, 91

Youngstown… Betty Bonzi, 91, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and sister, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Omni Manor Nursing Home in Youngstown.

Betty was born October 30, 1931, in Youngstown, the daughter of Theodore and Ann Rainey.

She was a proud homemaker and a life-long area resident.

Betty will be deeply missed and always remembered by her brother, William Rainey; sister, Patricia Christopher; children, Gerard Vakasy, Gregory Vakasy, Jeffrey Vakasy, Kenneth (Gloria) Vakasy, Linda Burke, Deborah Vazquez, Randy Wilson, and Michael Gandara; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands, John Vakasy and Bruce Bonzi; her two sons, John Jr. and Michael (Rat) Vakasy; granddaughter, Angela Vakasy and her sister, Beverly.

Per Betty's request, only private services were held for the family.
