Catherine Bakos, 94

Boardman…Catherine Bakos was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother during her 94 years of life. She peacefully went home to be with the Lord Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Greenbriar Nursing Center.

Catherine was born April 6, 1929 in Campbell, Ohio and was raised by her loving parents, Roy and Mary Mazur Raseta. She was a 1947 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and she married the love of her life, Mike Bakos, September 4, 1949.

She was an excellent homemaker and seamstress, making a lot of her own clothes. She also loved to crochet and cook, and her specialties were pierogies and her famous kolachies, making as many as 3 dozen rolls for the holidays.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 years, Mike; brothers George, Roy, and Stevan; sisters Mildred, Melva, and Dorothy.

She will be deeply missed by her sons Robert (Stella), and Michael (Brenda); grandchildren Robert (Shannon), Stacey Frasier (Scott), and Matthew (Tracy); great-grandchildren Abbey, Lola, Daisy, Kirsten, Sydney, and Brendan; sister-in-law Sandy Raseta; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Greenbriar staff for their care and support.

The family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell and will receive family and friends Saturday, march 16, 2024, at the funeral home from 11-11:30 a.m.  Funeral services will immediately follow at 11:30 a.m.
