Charlene Thomas, 67
Campbell…Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Wasko Funeral Home, with Pastor William Rotar officiating, for Charlene Thomas, 67, who passed away peacefully on the morning of July 20, 2017.
Charlene was born August 19, 1949, in Youngstown, the daughter of Charles and Dorothy Reiter Nardelli.
She was a 1968 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School.
Charlene had a deep love for children and caring for them for many years.
She was employed by both the Montesorri School and YSU in their daycare program.
Charlene truly loved holding, rocking and playing with the children. She cared for them and loved them as her own. Many of the children kept in touch with her over the years, sending cards and pictures, letting her know what was going on in their lives. Ms. Charlene was loved by all those she took care of.
Charlene enjoyed decorating her home for the holidays, especially for Halloween, which was her favorite. She loved having company and enjoyed when her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren would visit.
Charlene leaves to hold on to her precious memories, her husband Dominic Thomas, whom she married July 29, 2006; her children, Missy Vargas, Shannon (Lance) Costello, Robert (Carrie) Rischpater and Thomas Rischpater; her step-children, Dominic (Nicole) Thomas and Becky Thomas; her sister, Dorothy (Paul) Kish; her grandchildren, Lindsey and Justin Vargas, Destiny and Lacie Costello, Tristen Rischpater, John, Christopher, and Dominic Thomas and Jonathan Vega; and her great-grandchildren, Noah and Lilliana Vargas, Ava Vega; and Eljay Thomas and Shaylonie. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, loving friends; and her cat, Adrian.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her infant brother, Charles Jr., her sister, Patty Agnone; her brother-in-law, Lewis Agnone; and her step-daughter, Christina Thomas.
The Thomas family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Tuesday from 5-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
