Dorothy Stellmar, 84
Struthers…Dorothy (Dottie) Stellmar, 84 passed away peacefully Thursday, October 31, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown.
Dottie was born June 29, 1940 in Youngstown, Ohio a daughter of George and Amelia (Pokoj) Turschak.
She was a 1958 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School.
Dottie married her husband James S. Stellmar on September 26, 1959 and they were married until his passing on August 14, 1995.
She was a homemaker and had worked as a Title 1 Auxiliary Services Support at St. Joseph the Provider School.
Dottie was of the Catholic faith and was a member of the former St. Joseph the Provider Church.
She will be remembered for her faithful dedication to the church and school.
She was a member of the Infant Jesus of Prague Guild, and worked in the pierogi kitchen for years. She was a member of the church choir, a bingo worker, a Eucharistic Minister, and a member of the PTC.
Dottie loved her dogs, watching birds, doing crafts, baking cookies, tea rings and even wedding cakes. She enjoyed spending time with her family; especially her children and grandchildren and her circle of friends from church and school. She enjoyed the holidays and birthdays with the Stellmar family especially her sister-in-laws, Patty Lavernuick, Betty Simchick and Margaret Janosik. The center of her life was her love of Christ and the Church.
Dottie will be deeply missed and always remembered by her children, Sharon Ragan of Struthers, James (Shari) Stellmar of McDonald, Michele Noe of New Albany, Ohio and Kevin (Keirsten Welch) Stellmar of Lewis Center, Ohio; her grandchildren, R.J. (Samantha) Ragan, Nicholas (Nicole) Ragan, Jamie Stellmar, Jaydin (Ticen) Martin, Alexandria Welch, Kyra Stellmar and Makenna Stellmar; her great-grandchildren, Clifton, Charlotte, Kennedy and Aubrey; her brother, Russell(Maryann) Tuschak and her sister, Cynthia (Larry) Iorio.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother, Richard (Sueann)Turschak and her son-in-law Clifford Noe.
The Stellmar family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell and will receive friends and family on Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 10am -11:45 am at the funeral home followed by a funeral service at 12 noon officiated by The Very Rev. Msgr. John Zuraw.
Dottie will be laid to rest at St. John Roman Catholic Cemetery in Lowellville.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Woodlands at Hampton and Mercy Health for their kindness and compassion.
