Dorothy Tablack, 87

Campbell… Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Wasko Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. Joseph the Provider Catholic Church, with the Very Rev. Monsignor John Zuraw officiating, for Dorothy Tablack, 87, who passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018, with her family by her side.

Dorothy was born September 26, 1930, in New Castle, the daughter of John Zajac and Alma Golis.

She was a 1948 graduate of New Castle High School.

Dorothy was parishioner of St. Joseph the Provider Church, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.  She was an active member of the Campbell Senior Citizens Group, where she enjoyed many bus trips to area casinos.

Dorothy loved gardening and baking.  She was famous and known for her homemade apple sheet cake and kolachi.  Above all, she cherished spending time with her grandchildren, especially playing "500 Rummy".

Her husband, George D. Tablack, whom she married May 3, 1952, passed away October 20, 2001.

Dorothy will be deeply missed by her children, Thomas (Victoria) Tablack of Boardman, Robert (Lisa) Tablack of Youngstown, George (Susan) Tablack of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and Dorie (Greg) France of Sunbury, Ohio; her grandchildren, Michael Tablack, Robert (Aileen) Tablack, Nicole (Roger) Willman, Joseph (Megan) Tablack, Anthony Tablack, Jack (Annie) France and Anna France; four great-grandchildren; her brother-in-law, Robert (Pearl) Tablack of Struthers; sisters-in-law, Ann Zajac and Loretta Tablack; cousin, Flora Golis; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents; and her husband, George, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Zajac and sister, JoAnn Janowski.

The Tablack family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Friday from 4-7:00 p.m.

The family would like to especially thank Dr. Arthur Duran, the staff of Greenbriar Commons, Hospice House and the Boardman and Youngstown campuses' of St. Elizabeth Hospital for the wonderful and compassionate care given to Dorothy.
