Edward S. “Eddie” Hamrock, 74

YOUNGSTOWN…Edward S. “Eddie” Hamrock, 74 passed away at his home on Sunday, September 13, 2026.

Edward was born February 17, 1952 in Youngstown, Ohio, a son of Stephen and Margaret (Jacko) Hamrock. He grew up on Audrey Lane in Struthers then moved to Hubbard Township where he has resided since 2003.

He was a 1970 graduate of Struthers High School. He graduated with a Bachelor’ s Degree in Business Administration, majoring in accounting.

Edward worked as an orderly at the former Northside Hospital for 38 years. After their closing he went to work for Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

He was of the Catholic faith and was a former member of Christ Our Savior Parish in Struthers, Ohio. Following his marriage to the former Ozelma Brice on September 20, 2003 he then attended Covenant Life Fellowship of Hubbard.

Edward was a lifetime proud member of Mahoning Sportsman’s Association. He enjoyed swimming at the Hubbard Community Pool and the quarries in Hillsville. Ed loved canoeing and also enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and eating a good meal. Edward was a Cleveland Guardians fan and loved NASCAR, as well as trips to Michigan. He loved attending and supporting his grandchildren’s sporting events.

Edward will be deeply missed and always remembered by his sister, Judy Gregory of Struthers; his brother, Ron Hamrock of Boardman; step-children, Mary E. (George Couch) Steepleton and Ken (Lacey) Steepleton both of Hubbard; two grandchildren, Wyatt and Madison Steepleton; his niece and nephew, Tom Gregory of Riverview, Florida and Mrs. Tracy (John) Premec of Dublin, Ohio; two great-nieces, Tabitha and Stephanie Granchay. Ed also leaves behind his beloved cats, Blackberry and Cheyenne.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ozelma and his brother-in-law, Tom Gregory.

The Hamrock family has entrusted Edward’s care to the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell, Ohio. Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 28, 2026 from 4-5:30pm at Covenant Life Fellowship, 5900 West Liberty St., Hubbard, Ohio 44425. A Memorial Service will follow at 5:30pm officiated by Pastor Eric Diehl.
