Edward R. Hudak, 96

North Lima…A Private Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020, at Holy Sorrows Parish at St. Mathias Catholic Church, for Edward R. Hudak, 96, who passed away Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020 at Briarfield Manor.

Edward was born July 22, 1924, in Youngstown, the son of Albert and Mary Olenik Hudak.

He was a 1942 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and attended Youngstown College, where he studied Chemical Engineering.  Ed was a lifelong area resident.

Ed was a proud veteran, having served in the US Navy during WWII.  He was stationed in Okinawa, Japan.

He worked as an inside sales representative for Graybar Electric.  He retired in 1986.

Ed was a parishioner of St. Matthias Catholic Church.  He enjoyed gardening, spending time outdoors and cooking traditional Slovak foods.

Edward's wife, the former Anne Kinnick; passed away May 19, 2015.

Ed will be deeply missed and always remembered by his sons, Marty Hudak (fiancée Barb Booker) of Boardman and Ray (Cheryl Corey) Hudak of Scottsdale, Arizona; grandchildren, Jason and Jocelyn (Lou) Haidous; great-grandchild, Jamil of California; and his sister-in-law, Anne Algower of Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Anne; seven siblings and beloved nieces and nephews.

The Hudak family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home.  Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the family held private funeral services.
