Helen Maria Gayetsky, 93
CAMPBELL – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the Infant Jesus of Prague, Byzantine Catholic Church, for Helen Maria Gayetsky, 93, who passed away last Monday afternoon.
Helen was born February 29, 1924 in Lansing, Ohio, the daughter of John and Louise Smorado Petras.
She grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and was a 1942 Graduate of John Hay High School in Cleveland. She relocated to Campbell and then Youngstown, where, together with her husband Joe, they raised their five children. She spent her final year in Dublin, Ohio.
Helen's greatest passions in life were her dedication to The Lord and her profound love for her husband and family. She prayed her rosary daily, was a prolific reader and crocheted hundreds of items for family and friends through her long life.
Helen was a member of the Infant Jesus of Prague, Byzantine Catholic Church in Boardman, Ohio.
Her husband, Joseph, whom she married June 30, 1945, passed away on July 26, 1980.
Helen leaves to cherish her memories, her son Joel (Sandra) Gayetsky of Cincinnati; her daughters, Marie (Amir) Gayetsky – Ghadiri of Akron, and Louise Gayetsky of Mount Pleasant, SC; her sons, Mark (Barbara) Gayetsky of Tyler, TX, and John (Vera) Gayetsky of Dublin, OH; her grandchildren Garrick (Irene) Cicero of Cincinnati; Annie Kovach of Bel Air, MD; Joseph (Meghan McGrady) Gayetsky of Cincinnati; Kathryn Gayetsky of Osawatomie, KS; Matthew (Brittany) Gayetsky of Tyler, TX; Lisa (Dustin) Fisher of Albuquerque, NM; Ian Gayetsky of Dublin, OH; Eric (Rachael) Gayetsky of Katy, TX; and Isaac Gayetsky of Dublin, OH; and three great-grandchildren, Amaelia and Dyana Cicero and Andrew Kovach.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; her sisters, Pauline Darrah and Mildred Wolf; and her brother, John Petras.
The family has entrusted Helen to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Monday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the church, prior to the 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial.
