Jay E. Miller, 79

LOWELLVILLE…Jay E. Miller, 79 passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at the Cleveland Clinic.

Jay was born July 27, 1946 in Youngstown, Ohio, a son of Willard E. "Buck" and Margaret J. (Sudimak) Miller.

He was a 1964 graduate of North High School and was a lifelong resident of the Youngstown area.

Jay owned and operated Miller's Landscaping Inc. and Miller & Miller Management Inc. He had previously worked as a machinist and Union Steward at Westinghouse until their closing.

He was of the Christian faith.

Jay had been an Eagle Scout and lifeguard. He enjoyed hunting, horses, dogs, running his equipment, working and especially his vacations to Florida.

Jay will be deeply missed and always remembered by his life companion, Sherry Syphard of Pulaski, PA; his son, Mark (Pauline) Miller of Hubbard; his daughter, Beth (Michael) Miller-Gordon of Hubbard; Sherry's son Jason Syphard; grandchildren, Kazandra, Wyatt, and Rhaquel Miller, Kayla William, Jared Miller, Mariah (Zachary) Denney, Tyler Miller-Gordon and Aleesha Miller-Gordon; great-grandchildren, Demiana William and Sloane Denney; two sisters, Joyce (Bruce) Wiggins of Columbiana and Phyllis Johnson of Coitsville.

He will also be deeply missed by many extended family members, friends, neighbors, customers, and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Marie Estok.

The Miller family has entrusted Jay's care to the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell, Ohio where calling hours will be held Friday May 22, 2026 from 4-7 pm followed by a Memorial Service at 7pm officiated by Deacon John Bartos.
