John C. Tabak, 71

Campbell…Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the Wasko Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. Joseph the Provider Catholic Church, for John C. Tabak, 71, who passed away Wednesday evening in his home.

John was born January 30, 1946, in Youngstown, the son of Joseph and Corena Heck Tabak, and was a lifelong area resident.

He was a 1963 graduate of North High School and also attended the New Castle School of Trades.

John was a veteran of the US Army and completed two tours of duty in Vietnam.

He worked as a roller for Cold Metal Products, retiring after 30 years of service.

He was a parishioner of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. Joseph the Provider Catholic Church.

John was known to his family and friends as "Mr. Fix-it", always willing to offer a helping hand when needed.

John leaves to cherish his memory his wife, the former Elaine Tadla whom he married August 28, 1966; his children, John C. (Lisa) Tabak, Jr. of Austintown; Michele (Mark) Ackworth of Hubbard, and Tammy (Bob) Thomson of Hubbard; and his grandchildren, Brandon and Anthony Tabak of Austintown, Ashley and Candace Ackworth of Hubbard, and Brodie and Delaney Thomson, also of Hubbard.

Besides his parents; he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Tabak and his sister, Dorothy Tabak, who died at birth.

The Tabak family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Sunday from 2-5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
