Joseph A. DeTunno, 86

Campbell…Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Basilica in Youngstown, with the Very Rev. Msgr. Michael Cariglio officiating, for Joseph A. DeTunno, who passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center. He was 86 years old.

Joseph was born March 1, 1937 on the East Side of Youngstown, the son of Anthony and Lucy Colasante DeTunno. Joe is a retired master machinist who was employed with Packard Electric Delphi for 27 years.

He was an active sportsman at the Lawrence County Sportsmen's Association, and was a member of the Youngstown Italian Morra League. He was an avid gunsmithing hobbyist, and fisherman. He enjoyed the family sitting around a ten foot dining table, with spaghetti and meatballs, a shot of Jack and a glass of red wine.

Joe was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rosalie Ramunno DeTunno, whom he married September 28, 1957.

His memory will be carried with his children, Michele DeTunno (Albert Kovach), Annette Wellington (Mark Wellington), Jeannette Ginnis, Joseph DeTunno Jr., and Angelica DeTunno Mrakovich (Michael Mrakovich). He also leaves nine grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, four siblings, and son-in-law, Emanuel Ginnis.

The DeTunno family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends, Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024, from 9:00-9:45 a.m. at the Basilica, prior to the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m.
