Luis Antonio Miranda, 78
YOUNGSTOWN… Luis Antonio Miranda, 78 passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Monday, August 10, 2026 at Continuing Healthcare at the Ridge in Mineral Ridge, Ohio.
Luis was born May 2, 1948 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, a son of Antonio Luis and Delia (Vasques) Miranda.
Luis lived in the Bronx from the age of six until moving to the Youngstown area in 1975.
Luis married the love of his life, the former Maria R. Sanchez on July 8, 1967 and they shared almost 47 years of marriage until her passing on January 15, 2014.
He worked for Domestic Linen until retiring in July of 2013.
Luis was an avid musician as a drummer. His favorite band was the Beatles and he enjoyed playing all genres of music, but classic rock was his favorite. He also played in a band with his brother and sister-in-law called The Night Owl Band. He was a foodie, especially when it came to Italian food with lasagna being his favorite. Luis had a love for animals and he cherished time with his family.
Luis was of the Catholic faith.
Luis will be deeply missed and always remembered by his daughters, Barbara Miranda of Youngstown, Ohio and Chaunet Miranda also of Youngstown, Ohio; his son, Anthony (Lisa) Miranda of Campbell; seven grandchildren, Jasmine, Jacalyn, Leah, Crystal, and Marisol Miranda, Tysha May and Brianna Farris; eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Ramona Ortiz and brother, Edwin (Gabi) Miranda.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Maria and a sister, Gloria Medina.
The Miranda family has entrusted Luis’s care to the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell, Ohio where calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026 from 10am-12noon followed by a funeral service at 12noon.
