Obituary

Richard "Porky" Zebrowski, 88 STRUTHERS – Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018, at 9:30 a.m. at the Wasko Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Struthers, officiated by the Rev. Michael Swierz, for Richard "Porky" Zebrowski, 88, who passed away Tuesday evening, Aug. 14, 2018. Richard was born Nov. 15, 1929, in Youngstown, the son of Anthony and Gertrude (Roberts) Zebrowski. He was a 1948 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and a lifelong area resident. Porky, as he was affectionately known by many, worked as a machinist at Metal Carbids Corp. in Boardman for 45 years and later spent five years as a consultant for the company. He was a parishioner of Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Church in Struthers, where he served as the Treasurer for the Holy Name Society for 23 years. He was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and served as an usher. He also helped with the Soup Kitchen for the St. Vincent DePaul Society. Porky was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved to ski and participated in the Youngstown Ski Club. Porky enjoyed traveling, golfing and polka dancing and was even a polka booster. Richard will always be remembered as a person who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and loved being with his family. Porky will be deeply missed by his wife, the former Catherine "Betty" Wilush, whom he married May 29, 1954, at St. John the Baptist Polish Church in Campbell; his children, Roseann (Robert) Fair of Negley, Richard (Candace) Zebrowski of Campbell and Jane Campana of Boardman; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Dr. Aaron) Sweeney, Randall Campana, Ryan Campana, Jessica Fair, and Morgan Price; five great-grandchildren; and his sister, Alice Citano of Boardman. He was preceded in death by his parents. The Zebrowski family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Friday, Aug. 17, 2018, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, where the Knights of Columbus will perform a prayer service at 7:45 p.m.
