Wilfredo Placeres, 66

CAMPBELL…Wilfredo Placeres, 66 passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at home on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.

Wilfredo was born November 9, 1959 in Naguabo, Puerto Rico a son of Ceferino Placeres Torres and Juana Piñero Hernández.

He moved from Puerto Rico to New York in his early 20's and then moved to Campbell in 1999.

Wilfredo worked in maintenance for several businesses over the years.

He attended Christ Empowered Ministry in Struthers.

Wilfredo enjoyed cars, especially antique cars and working on cars.  He was an avid musician and played several Latin percussion instruments. He truly loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Wilfredo will be deeply missed and always remembered by his children, Elizabeth (José Martinez) Otero of Philadelphia, PA, Wilfredo (Maria) Arroyo also of Philadelphia, PA, Vilmary (David) Kausits of Campbell, Ohio and Jakeline Placeres of Campbell, Ohio; grandchildren, Nathan Arroyo, Mateo Kausits, Adán Kausits, and Daimary Kausits; siblings, Jose Placeres, Juan Placeres, Margarita Placeres, Regalada Placeres, Virginia Placeres, Mercedes Placeres and Miguel Chico.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, David and Lauro Placeres.

The Placeres family has entrusted Wilfredo's care to the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell, Ohio where calling hours will be held Monday, July 6, 2026 from 4-6pm and again on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 from 10-11am followed by a funeral service at 11am officiated by Pastors Phillip and Gloria Darty.

Wilfredo will be laid to rest in Lake Park Cemetery in Youngstown, Ohio.
