Angela Elia Carano, 95

Campbell…Angela Elia Carano, 95 passed away peacefully on Saturday April 6, 2024 at Briarfield Place in Boardman.

Angela was born on February 21, 1929 in Fontecurelli, Italy.  She was a daughter of Michael “Mikeen” Falasca and Josephine Falasca. She came from Italy in 1954 and she lived the American Dream, opening a dry cleaning business and a pizza parlor. She was also a seamstress for many years.

Angela will be deeply missed by her daughters; Franca “Franki” (Mark) Carano-Elliott and Mary Jo (Mike) Carano-Fagert; grandchildren, Cara (Mike) Elliott-Wright, Adrienne (Duane) Elliott-Gresh, Tiffany (Jeremy) Fagert-Smith and Melanie (Brian) Fagert-Pfau; great grandchildren, Maria and Maxon Wright, Aiden, Beckham and Elia Gresh, Jake and Mackenzie Smith, Caroline, Alexandria and Juliana Pfau; her bother Joseph Falasca and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Remo Carano; a sister Ida, brother-in-law Americo Carano, a sister-in-law Anne Falasca and her brother Anthony Falasca and his wife Sally Falasca.

Angela was a member of the former St. Lucy Church in Campbell where she was a member of the Infant Jesus Guild and was involved with many church activities, especially the spaghetti dinners. She was also an auxiliary member of the CMS Club.

Angela loved cooking for her family, she was an avid gardener and enjoyed needle work and crocheting. Above all she loved her family and spending time with them, especially most recently with her great grandchildren. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren will deeply miss her enormous hugs and kisses.

Angela’s family would like to thank Ed and Diane Reese and the whole staff at Briarfield Place for the exceptional care given to their mom. The family would also like to extend a special Thank you to Sanctuary Hospice and especially to Roseann Lisko.

The family has also requested that all monetary donations be forwarded to the Oblate Sisters of Youngstown.

The Carano Family has entrusted their loved one to the care of The Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends and family on Monday April 15, 2024 from 5-7p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday April 16, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Angela Merici Church celebrated by Father Thomas Kraszewski and Father Richard Murphy.

Angela will be laid to rest at St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
