Barbara Turkal, 82
NORTH LIMA…Barbara Turkal passed away at age 82 on October 13, 2025.
She was born on April 15,1943 in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of Joseph and Irene (Torok) Grizinski.
Barbara graduated in 1961 from Boardman High School. Her first job after graduation was at Gorant Candies. She then found employment at General Electric in Youngstown, remaining there until GE lamp plant’s closing. She worked on their factory line in the packing department. In addition, she had training as a cosmetologist.
She spent the last 18 years of her life at Willow Woods Rehabilitation and Nursing Center due to a variety of disabling conditions.
She enjoyed attending family events and loved watching western TV shows from the 1950’s and 1960’s, for example, Gunsmoke, Bonanza, and Laramie.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her sister, Liz (Tim) Baynes; her brother, Richard Grizinski: nieces, Amy (Josh) and Jessica; nephews, Mark (Sarah) and Brian along with many great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Irene Grizinski; uncles, Paul Torok, Frank (Mary) Torok, John Grizinski, Ted (Marian) Grizinski and sister-in-law, Catherine Grizinski.
Barbara’s care has been entrusted to the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell, Ohio where private services were held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.
The family extends a special thank you for the care and support that Barbara received by the staff at Willow Woods and AKESO Health Care.
