Carmen Iris Alicea, 66

CAMPBELL…Carmen Iris Alicea, 66 passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown.

Carmen was born June 9, 1959 in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of George Ortiz Sr. and Lenor Negron Ortiz.

She was a 1978 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and she was of the Catholic faith.

Carmen especially loved her grandchildren and spending time with her children. She enjoyed grilling and her trips to Walmart and loved her two dogs, Tiny and Gina.

Carmen will be deeply missed and always remembered by her daughters, Cynthia Aviles of New York and Sophia Alicea of Youngstown and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Richard Garcia Jr.; three brothers, George Ortiz Jr., Felix Ortiz and David Ortiz.

The Alicea family has entrusted Carmen’s care the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell, Ohio. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025 from 10-11am at the funeral home followed by a funeral service at 11am.
