Clair E. Carpenter, 69

NEW CASTLE…Clair E. Carpenter, 69 passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.

Clair was born March 7, 1956 in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of Joseph and Annarose (Brayer) Topolosky.

She was a 1974 graduate of New Wilmington High School in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania. Clair went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts and Graphic Design from Ohio University.

Clair grew up in Pulaski , Pennsylvania and then lived in Athens, Ohio for 31 years and moved to Arizona in retirement. She returned to New Castle in 2023.

 For 31 years she worked as an Administrator with Ohio University for Kennedy Museum of Art .

Clair enjoyed photography, graphic design, crocheting, reading and baking.  Later in life, Clair especially enjoyed gardening and it showed because she kept a very beautiful backyard.

She will be deeply missed and always remembered by her son, Todd R. Carpenter; her brothers, John (Susan Landmark) Topolosky and Raymond Topolosky; her sister Joan Head; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Clair was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Betty Ann and Veronica Topolosky.

The Carpenter family has entrusted Clair’s care to the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell, Ohio. A Graveside Committal Service will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at 2pm at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Cemetery in Lowellville, Ohio.
