Cynthia A. Makosky, 80
PLYMOUTH, OHIO…Cynthia A. Makosky, 80 passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
Cynthia was born July 31, 1945 in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of Michael F. and Alice J. (Hamrock) Yatsco.
She was a 1963 graduate of Ursuline High School.
Cynthia worked as a waitress and hostess for several area restaurants, including The Colonial House and her last twenty years working was at The Brown Derby, retiring in 2005.
Cynthia was of the Catholic faith.
Cynthia enjoyed her trips to area casinos, playing games and cards and she loved bingo. Above all she cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who affectionately called her GiGi.
She will be remembered as having a gentle soul who always gave encouragement.
Cynthia will be deeply missed and always remembered by her children, Helen (John) Matta of Plymouth, Ohio, Jeffrey Makosky of San Diego, California and Stephanie Zeleji of Painesville Twp.; grandchildren, Kayla (John Fleger) and Rachel Matta and Chloe Zeleji; great-grandchildren, Emmett and Emelia Fleger; her sister, Dorothy Makosky of Youngstown, as well as many nieces and nephews whom she loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Helen Walihnac and her brother, Frederick Yatsco.
The Makosky family has entrusted Cynthia’s care to the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell, Ohio. Calling hours will be held Monday, April 6, 2026 from 4-6 pm at the funeral home and again on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 from 10-11am with a funeral service at 11am.
Cynthia will be laid to rest at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Cemetery in Lowellville, Ohio.
