Dean A. Rosan, 68
BOARDMAN… Dean A. Rosan, 68, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, May 2, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital following a brief illness.
Dean was born January 16, 1957, in Youngstown, Ohio, to John and Katherine (Vukovich) Rosan. He graduated from Campbell Memorial High School in 1974 and went on to work as a Piercer Operator at Youngstown Sheet & Tube. Later, he served as Document & Inventory Controller at Gorant Chocolatier, retiring in 2021.
Dean led a simple and meaningful life. He was a kind, generous soul and was well-liked by all who came to know him. A devoted sports fan, Dean followed the Boston Red Sox and the Philadelphia Eagles, but his greatest allegiance was to the Campbell Memorial Red Devils, whom he supported and promoted throughout his life.
Music was a constant companion for Dean. He enjoyed collecting albums and listening to a wide variety of artists. He also had a deep love for animals and regarded his pets as part of the family. In later years he supported local wildlife sanctuaries and animal shelters. Dean also found joy in frequenting local eateries and reconnecting with former classmates and co-workers at regular gatherings.
Dean is survived by his brother John (Christine) Rosan of Westerville, and sisters Janice (Frank) Castro of Poland and Debbie (Tom) Walko of Boardman. He also leaves behind beloved nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss him deeply. Dean was preceded in death by his parents.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to nurses and staff of St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital for the compassionate care they provided during Dean’s illness.
