Dolores E. Zetts, 93
Boardman…Dolores E. Zetts, 93 passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, July 25, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.
Dolores was born on July 22, 1931 on the east side of Youngstown. She was the daughter of John and Kathryn Klus Pavelko.
Dolores was a 1949 graduate of East High School.
She was a member of St Dominic Church.
She married the love of her life Frank J. Zetts on July 18, 1955. They shared 44 wonderful years together until his passing in 1999.
Dolores worked at the General Electric Lamp Plant as a light bulb packer for 13 years and retired to raise her children. She later returned to work at St. Elizabeth Hospital working as a cafeteria cashier and retired with 24 years of service.
Dolores’s favorite pastime was playing bingo at many churches in the area, and dancing with her husband Frank on the weekends. She loved to travel with her husband Frank. Every summer they would take a road trip with the family. Her favorite spots to visit were Las Vegas, NV and Ft. Lauderdale, Fl where she would stay and visit friends. Dolores and Frank also had classic cars. They had a 38 Buick and a Chevy Impala that they won awards for and they enjoyed collecting car plaques. She also loved watching The Price is Right, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Dolores was not your typical senior, she always had dancing feet and enjoyed her bottle of beer.
In later years, she made many friends, joined by her two sons listening and dancing to local bands. She loved to dance and was usually the first one on the dance floor. Her favorite band was Disco Inferno and was often dancing on stage with the band. She was often called the Disco Queen by her friends.
Dolores will always be remembered for her positive attitude which was contagious to others as well and despite her health issues over the past two years, she always remained positive and continued on. Above all Dolores will be remembered for her love she had for her family; especially her grandsons.
She will be deeply missed and always remembered by her daughters, Karen (John) Seifarth of Chardon, OH, and Dolores (Kevin) Heck of Sheffield Lake, OH; two sons, Frank and Arnold Zetts of Boardman with whom she made her home. She also leaves behind her two grandsons Kyle Heck of Sheffield Lake, OH and Neal Heck of Denver, Colorado; and one brother, Robert Pavelko of Denver, Colorado.
Dolores was preceded in death by her husband Frank and her two brothers, Donald and Gary Pavelko.
The Zetts family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends and family Tuesday, July 30, 2024 from 5-7pm.
