Dorothy H. Lisko

CAMPBELL… Dorothy H. Lisko, age 88, passed away on Sunday, March 26 after a brief illness.  She was a life-long resident of Campbell, Ohio.

Dorothy was born February 3,1935 in Campbell, OH, the daughter of John and Helen (Purda) Macala.  She was a 1952 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and worked in an administrative assistant role at Youngstown Sheet & Tube until retiring to start her most fulfilling role of raising her children and caring for her family.  She rejoined the workforce at St Elizabeth’s Nursing School Library, and then Youngstown State University in the offices of Continuing Education, and Human Resources, before retiring in 2003.     

Dorothy was an active member of St Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Campbell, where she was a member and officer of the Ladies Guild.  Dorothy was known by many for her love of reading and libraries since her childhood, and retirement brought her joy to spend an afternoon at the library.  She had a “green thumb” and grew and nurtured many houseplants and flower gardens over the decades. Dorothy loved Summer vacations at the ocean shore – especially with her granddaughters in her retirement years.  

Dorothy is predeceased by her parents, and brothers Peter (and Mary) and John G. (and Mary Lou). 

Dorothy leaves her daughter Lynn (Lisko) and David DeChellis, and son John Lisko; granddaughters Lauren and Megan DeChellis, as well as nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at St Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Campbell, OH.  Visitation will be held from 10-11am, followed by a Funeral Divine Liturgy at 11am.       

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wasko Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to The Library Foundation, part of The Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County in Dorothy’s memory or to a favorite charity of your own.  Donations also accepted by St Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church Building fund, 463 Robinson Road, PO Box 426, Campbell, OH 44405.
