Irene F. (Oleksak) Sinkele

AUSTINTOWN – Irene F. Sinkele, 86, passed away on September 26, 2025, at Austintown Healthcare Center.   

She was born on June 12, 1939, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Joseph and Lillian Oleksak.

Irene, a South High School graduate, worked for many years at General Electric.  She was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church in Youngstown, where she made delicious pierogies every week. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She leaves behind her sons, Jeff (Laurie) Sinkele of Salem, SC and Kevin (Carrie) Sinkele of Austintown; grandchildren Kellie (Michael) Wolverton, Jeff Sinkele, Marissa (Branden) St. Clair, Ron (Randi) Haines, Stylianos Pateras and Michael Pateras; great-grandchildren Lyla, Truet, Lilliana, Juliette, and Ryan; and sisters Joani (Jeff) Bott, Phyllis Ashley, and Delores Benson.

Other than her parents and brother Chester, she was preceded in death by her husband, David J. Sinkele, who passed away December 14, 2013.

Private family services will be held.

The family has entrusted their loved one to the Kubina Yuhasz Funeral Home.
