James F. Michelini, 80

CAMPBELL…James F. Michelini, 80 passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.

James was born January 9, 1945 in Youngstown, Ohio, a son of Guido and Ann (Centofanti) Michelini.

He was a1963 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School where he was on the baseball team. He was a reservist with the Ohio National Guard. James was a life long resident of Campbell, Ohio.

James married the love of his life, the former Mary Diane O’Hara on February 4, 1967 and they shared 58 years of marriage.

James worked as an electrician for U.S. Steel Ohio Works until its closing in the mid 1980’s. He then went on to work for the Ohio Turnpike Commission until his retirement in 2010.

He was of the Catholic faith and was a member of St. Angela Merici Parish and a trustee for the former St. Elizabeth Church.

James was an avid Cleveland sports team fan. He enjoyed cooking and baking, especially banana and zucchini bread. He truly loved spending time with his children and being Papa to his grandchildren.

James will be deeply missed and always remembered by his wife, Diane; his children, Lisa (Ron) Osiniak and Steven (Suzanne) Michelini both of Campbell; grandchildren, Isabella, Carli and Rocco; his sister Priscilla Turscak of Campbell;  a host of nieces and nephews with whom he had a special bond and loved dearly and his grand dogs, Milo and Buckeye.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter, Michelle Lynn Michelini.

The Michelini family has entrusted James’ care to the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell, Ohio. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, November 16, 2025 from 2-4pm. A Prayer Service will be held Monday, November 17,2025 at 9:30am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at St. Angela Merici Church.

James will be laid to rest at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Cemetery in Lowellville, Ohio.
