Karen Bieganowski Obituary

Karen Sue Bieganowski (Kichak), 65

Lordstown…Karen Sue Bieganowski, 65, of Lordstown, OH, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 13th, 2024 in Cleveland, OH. She was born on December 29, 1958 in Youngstown, OH, to the late Frank Kichak and Dorothy Toler.

Karen is survived by her loving children, Joseph F. Bieganowski of Lordstown, OH, Jody M. Stump (Matthew) of Streetsboro, OH, and Jennifer Bieganowski of McDonald, OH. She was a devoted grandmother to her cherished granddaughter, Kylie Stump. She also leaves behind her beloved Yorkie dog, Gracie.

Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Bieganowski, and her brothers, Frank Kichak and Carl Kichak.

Karen attended high school in Youngstown, OH, and held various jobs throughout her life, all in the Mahoning Valley.

The creative passion that brought her the most pleasure was decorating her home for various holidays and seasons throughout the year.  Her remarkable talent and ability enabled her to transform her home into a space that was admired by those she welcomed. Karen’s eye for decorating was without a doubt beyond that of displays seen in Hobby Lobby or Kirkland’s.

Another creative outlet Karen enjoyed was designing ribbon wreaths where she would spend a great length of time from choosing the theme to finding just the right materials that matched her vision, and then assembling a wreath that any homeowner would treasure. It was not uncommon for Karen to give away her labor of love to friends, family, and neighbors.

Karen celebrated festive holidays best by inviting immediate family over for meals that could feed an army.  She was adamant that you arrive empty handed, and leave with more than you could carry.  We cannot forget about the desserts that were so plentiful, they had a table all to themselves.  It was evident that chocolate was her sweetness of choice, as that was the common theme amongst the table of sweets.

Karen’s yorkie, Gracie, remained by her side from the day she brought her home, and she was there in daily routines and a constant sense of comfort. As small as Gracie was, she provided Karen with companionship and unconditional love until her passing days.

Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her granddaughter, Kylie, whom she adored beyond measure. There was absolutely nothing greater than to witness than the pure love Karen showed while she watched Kylie grow up over the years. Karen created special memories with Kylie from the days of sidewalk chalk to jewelry making and baking together.  Just like all great grandmas, Karen was eager to brag to her close friends about every accomplishment Kylie achieved and share her photos.

Karen cherished the lifelong friendships that only continued to strengthen through the years. She will be greatly missed by those that loved her most and knew her best.  These very friends will remain a part of her children’s lives and keep her memory alive, which extends from her wishes to the stories they shared, and memories they created.

Karen will be remembered for her loving nature, her creativity, and the warmth she brought to every holiday gathering, and how much her family meant to her. The loss will be felt deeply by those who loved Karen and were close to her in her life. Karen’s heart and body are forever healed as she is now back in the arms of her late husband.
