Manuel Nick Frangos, 71
Youngstown…Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at the Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church, with Rev. Steve Denas officiating, for Manuel Nick Frangos, 71, who passed away Monday evening.
Manuel was born February 8, 1947, in Tarpon Springs, Florida, the son of Nicholas Frangos and Nickie Pastrikos.
Manuel spent most of his life in the area and attended Youngstown State University.
He served in the US Army.
Manuel worked at Packard Electric for 41 years, where he served as a union rep for many years. He retired December 21, 2006.
Manuel was a parishioner of Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church in Campbell.
He enjoyed drag racing and was a Cleveland sports enthusiast. He was an avid fan of politics and spearheaded the annual 717 walleye tournament.
Manuel will be deeply missed by his wife, the former Diane Wollitz, whom he married October 9, 1982 at Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church; his children, Lindsay (Brandon) Mace of Youngstown; and his sons, Nicholas Frangos and William Frangos, both of Youngstown; his sisters, Mary Frangos of Youngstown and Fontaine (John) Bairamis of Campbell; his sister-in-law, Lisa Frangos of Campbell; a good family friend, Karen Saxon; many nieces and nephews; and his pet cats, whom he adored.
Besides his parents; Manuel was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Frangos.
The Frangos family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Monday from 4-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, and again Tuesday morning from 9:30-10:00 a.m. at the church, prior to the 10:00 a.m. funeral services.
