Maryann (Bartos) Jurcisin
Sparks, Nevada / Formerly of Coitsville Township, Ohio …Private funeral services were held for Maryann (Bartos) Jurcisin, 87, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, in Sparks, Nevada.
Maryann was born October 14, 1938, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Andrew Bartos and Anna Duzi Bartos. She was a 1956 graduate of Ursuline High School in Youngstown.
Maryann was the beloved wife of Jerry Jurcisin, Sr., whom she married on May 9, 1959, at St. Elizabeth’s Church in Campbell, Ohio.
Maryann was employed as a secretary at the former St. Elizabeth’s Church for 21 years, retiring in 1991. A woman of deep faith, she considered herself blessed to serve her church as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, and commissioned Leader of Prayer. She was also a Notary Public for over 60 years.
Maryann was a member of St. Angela Merici Parish. Family meant the world to her, and together with her husband she lovingly hosted many celebrations, parties, and picnics for her family at their home. She was a wonderful cook and baker, a friend to everyone she met, and someone who truly loved all people.
Maryann is survived by her sister, Dorothy Hanlon; her son, Mark (Jamiann) Yurcisin of Nevada; her beloved grandchildren, Jerry Jurcisin III, Matthew Jurcisin, Jessica Jurcisin, Andrew Yurcisin, and Elizabeth Yurcisin; and her sisters-in-law, Merceda Yurcisin and Marilyne Bartos.
Maryann was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Joseph, John, and Andrew Bartos; her husband, Jerry Jurcisin, Sr.; her son, Jerry Jurcisin, Jr.; and her daughter-in-law, Kelly Jurcisin.
Maryann was laid to rest at St. John’s Cemetery in Campbell, Ohio.
A special note of thanks to her dear neighbors and friends, Monica and Kenneth Johnston; her friend, Nancy Marsh; and to the compassionate caregivers at Patriot at Home in Youngstown and Summit View Hospice in Reno, Nevada.
The Jurcisin family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell, Ohio.
