Austintown...Maureen M. Said, 58 passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Mercy Health Hospital in Youngstown surrounded by her loving family.
Maureen was born on September 5, 1966 in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter to Carl and Janice (Pacak) Crissman.
She was a graduate of Ursuline High School in Youngstown. She went on to earn her Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Kent State University in 1990.
Maureen was of the Christian faith and was a former member of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. John The Baptist Church in Campbell.
Maureen moved to El Cajon, California in 1997 where she resided for 10 years. While in California she studied for and obtained her LPN license. She worked at Grossmont Gardens Care Center as a licensed practical nurse for 9 years. She also worked with troubled youth in the San Diego area. Maureen was most recently employed by Maxim Healthcare for the last 10 years up until the time of her hospitalization.
Maureen was always thinking of others and loved to try to surprise people with visits, small gifts, or even a meal. She enjoyed bringing happiness to others. She was always finding different places for her family to go for day or weekend trips. She also enjoyed family vacations to Florida and Hawaii. She strongly believed in sponsoring and donating to causes related to any type of special needs or disabilities at every opportunity. She loved spending time with her daughter, Ciera, who was her pride and joy. She enjoyed their weekend trips to Mountianeer Casino where they would have spa days. She and her daughter loved Phantoms Hockey and were season ticket holders. Maureen's true passion was helping others, especially those who were sick and shut in.
Maureen will be deeply missed and always remembered by her daughter, Ciera Said of Austintown; her sister, Charlene Crissman of Austintown; her nephew, Marcus Crissman of Austintown; Aunt Mariann Pacak of Campbell and her beloved companion, her cat, Cheeto.
She was proceeded in death by her parents.
The Said Family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell. There will be a Celebration of Life gathering to be set at a later date.
