Michael Lebenich III
SAVANNAH…Michael Lebenich III, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025 in Savannah, Georgia from a brief illness with his “people” by his side.
Michael was born September 5, 1947 to the late Mike Jr. and Mary T. (Bestenec) Lebenich.
Michael was raised in Campbell, Ohio and was a 1965 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School.
Michael proudly served in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam veteran. After an honorable discharge in 1970, he returned to Campbell and was the owner and operator of the well known Lebenich’s Sunoco.
He loved a good party and spending the weekends boating and camping at Shenango Lake. Michael eventually settled in Denver, Colorado and was a Baker for King Soopers/The Kroger Co. After retiring, Michael began to travel and spent a lot of time in Bluffton, South Carolina and spent time camping at Lake Milton and attending NASCAR races with his late brother Joey and his family (Sheri ,Bree, and Joe).
Michael leaves to cherish his memory a special nephew and Best Bud Joe Lebenich; his “favorite” sister-in-law Sheri Lebenich; brother, John Lebenich; sisters, Mary (Jim) Durkee, and Jeanny Zetts; nieces, Bree, Kelly, Karrie, Kristy, Lisa, and Lauren along with many great nieces and nephews. He also leaves a great friend Bill Ronquest and “the coffee crew”.
He was preceded in death by his father Mike, mother Mary, and brother Joey.
There will be a celebration of life service honoring Michael Saturday September 20, 2025 from 9-10am at Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell followed by a funeral service at 10am officiated by the Very Rev. Kevin Marks.
