Milan “Paul” Kish, 81
Milan “Paul” Kish, 81, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, September 23, 2024 at the Hospice House in North Lima.
Paul was born on February 3, 1943, in Carteret, New Jersey to Pavel and Elsie (Stefura) Kish. The Kish family moved to Campbell during his youth and he attended Campbell Memorial High School. He met the love of his life, the former Dorothy “Dee” Nardella, and they married on August 31, 1963.
Paul was a member of the United States Marine Corps from 1962 - 1966, having served a tour in Vietnam from 1965 - 1966. After the Marine Corps, Paul became a proprietor of two Sohio gas station and repair shops located in Campbell. Shortly thereafter, Paul was employed by Jones & Laughlin Steel Company in Campbell and subsequently Cold Metal Products until his retirement in the mid-1990’s. After retirement, Paul took interest in several hobbies such as coin collection, watching old westerns, working on cars, woodworking and hitting the casino with family and friends
A very unselfish man, Paul’s nature was to care for others. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and be the go-to-guy for family, friends and neighbors that were in need of help. At any given time, Paul could be seen working on a car, cutting a neighbor’s grass or shoveling snow off their drive, doing a home repair/improvement and delivering food and groceries for his elderly neighbor.
Paul’s greatest love, by far, was his family and three feline fur babies, Stinky, Trouble, and Unique. Affectionately known as “Papa” by his grandchildren, he kept very busy attending all their sporting events and school activities for which he took great interest and pride in. You never seen Papa without a smile on his face when in the company of his grand kids and great-grandkids. He was the ultimate family man that showed immeasurable love and devotion to his family.
He will be deeply missed and always remembered by his wife Dee; three sons, Chuck (Sherri) Kish of Poland, Paul Kish of New Middletown and Jeff (Lisa) Kish of Campbell; eight grandchildren Ryan (Taylor) Kish, Taylor (Alberta) Kish, Brandon (Hannah) Kish, Jenna, Jacqueline, Katherine, Zachary and Addisen Kish; three great-grandchildren, Crue, Cleo and Nyla Kish; his sister Shirley (Rudy) Zura; sister-in-law Linda Ramos; brother-in-law Jerry Macala and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Margie DiPinto, Betty Matzye, and Sue Macala, two brothers Michael Kish and Butchie Kish, niece Linda Kish, nephew Jackie DiPinto, and brothers-in-law, Jack DiPinto and Larry Matzye.
The Kish family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home where they will receive friends and family on Monday, September 30, 2024 from 5 - 7pm. Prayers will be offered on Tuesday October 1, 2024 at 9:30am in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00am at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish in Campbell with The Very Rev. MSGR. John A. Zuraw, officiating. Military Honors will take place at 11:00am at St.John cemetery on Villa Marie Rd. In Lowellville.
