Perry Malactaris, 76
CAMPBELL…Perry Malactaris, 76 passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, December 30, 2024 at Hospice House in Poland, Ohio.
Perry was born July 18, 1948 in Asfendiou, Kos, Greece a son of Iosif and Stamatia (Pitsi) Malachtaris.
He has lived in the Youngstown area since 1997.
Perry worked as a bridge painter.
He was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Youngstown.
Perry enjoyed fishing and going out on his boat. He loved his dogs and spending time with his friends drinking coffee.
He will be deeply missed and always remembered by his children, Maria Atsas (Panagiotis) Papachronopoulos of North Carolina, Joseph (Gerry Long) Malactaris of Campbell and George (Kristen) Malactaris also of North Carolina; 3 grandchildren, Christopher Perry Malactaris, Melina Irene and George Charles Malactaris; 2 brothers, Kleanthis and George Malactaris.
Perry was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Evdoxia Soulounia.
The Malactaris family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell and will receive friends and family on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 9:30-10am at the funeral home followed by a prayer service at 10am officiated by Father Joseph DiStefano.
Perry will be laid to rest at Panagia Limniotissa in Kalymnos, Greece.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Perry’s memory to St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Youngstown.
