CAMPBELL…Private funeral services were held on Thursday January 20, 2022 in the Wasko Funeral Home with Fr. Kevin Marks officiating for Robert “Bob” Farmintino, age 75, who passed away on Sunday January 16, 2022 in St. Elizabeth Main Hospital.
Bob was born December 4, 1946 in Youngstown and was a son of Rocco and Ruth (Sinsley) Farmintino.
He was a 1964 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and went on to earn his Bachelors degree in history and science education from Youngstown State University.
A lifelong Campbell resident, Bob was known by many for his over 40-year career as an Insurance Agent.
He was a member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church in
Campbell.
Bob’s greatest joy in life was going to all of his grandchildren’s sporting events and earning the title as the official “Papa” for all the kids on the team. He also enjoyed watching live horse racing, trips to the casino, and, no matter the sport event, rooting for the opposite team that the rest of the family was cheering for.
Bob had a special gift of lighting up the room. No matter the time, place or occasion, he could always make you smile and laugh.
Bob is survived by his loving wife the former Darlene Eadie whom he married May 19, 1973. His three daughters Melissa (Andy) VanJura, Sheri Lebenich (John-g) and Shannon Farmintino (Rob) all of Campbell, his son Robert C. Farmintino of Youngstown. His nine grandchildren Briana (Jay) and Joseph Lebenich, Mary Jennings and Andrew VanJura, Kirsten (Nick), Sydney and Brendan Hurd, Philip and Gina Farmintino. His three great-grandchildren whom were the light of his life,Nolan and Emilia Zaitzew and Ellie Jennings. Bob is also survived by his brother Russell (Dorothy) Farmintino, his sister Rita (Jay) Hodshon, his Godson Russell Farmintino Jr. , and a host of nieces and nephews that he dearly loved.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Ronald Farmintino, and a son-in-law Joseph Lebenich.
